How to use
- Add an unencrypted PDF.
- Set the open password, owner password, and user permissions.
- Test the result in another reader and retain the original.
Privacy
Input and files are processed in the current browser tab. Mingmist does not receive the content unless you independently share the result elsewhere.
Limitations
Uses a pinned version of a third-party open-source encryption library. Output uses AES-128; permission flags are not unbreakable DRM and do not replace secure storage or transfer.
FAQ
Can permissions completely prevent copying or printing?
No. PDF permissions are enforced by readers and can be bypassed with the owner password or software that ignores restrictions.
Which encryption is used?
This version raises the document header to PDF 1.7 and uses the AES-128 standard security handler.
